BTW, for those thinking where this hulk sells at these prices:
November 2011 results for OMAN:
1 Toyota Land Cruiser 1,808 13.3%

Oman's monthly sales of LC200 outsell complete allocation for USA.

Other notable sales (November 2011 mostly):
11 Toyota Land Cruiser 1,192 2.7% - Saudi Arabia
4 Toyota Land Cruiser 966 4.5% - UAE
1 Toyota Land Cruiser 636 11.1% - Quatar
7 Toyota Land Cruiser 217 2.4% - Kuwait
1 Toyota Land Cruiser 294 10.2% - Bahrain
32 Toyota Land Cruiser 863 1.0% - Aussie

Rich Arab countries heh :-)

So Land Cruiser is selling in single digits per month in some of those markets. It explains why Toyota still offers it in North America.

Whould you happen to know what the sales numbers for Mexico are?

you didnt understand the numbers.... first number after the name is monthly sales... for instance in Oman, they sold 1808 in November 2011, and it was #1 best selling car in the market with 13.3% market share.

I would guess the offer it because it is their classic vehicle and not everyone wants Lexus nor everyone has Lexus dealer close by.

But it is clear by those numbers that Land Cruiser 200, the expensive one (there are other variants), sells at least 100,000 per year world wide. Those are quite the numbers for such expensive and huge vehicle.

Toyota has some official numbers for LC, but there are several variants of LC world wide, not every one is that expensive.

New LX570 front and rear end have been revealed. Looks ok, not stunning but not at all bad.

It's often hard to get legitimate sales-figures for Mexico because of the country's notorious SUV-theft rings. Because the country's poor, rough roads and extensive off-roading create a demand for SUVs, they are often stolen in the U.S. or other countries, clandestinely shipped or driven to Mexico, and have their VINs altered and re-sold/re-registered fraudulently. The LC is in especially high demand because of its durability/reliabilty, comfort, and adaptibility to a wide range of off-road conditions.

The small touches on the new LX make a HUGE difference. I love it.

Tons more personality and identity in this one!

If you look closely it looks like Lexus added the vortex generators near the side mirrors just like on the 2012 Camry. The rear better but the new grille looks tacky with the chrome abruptly ending halfway down the bumper. I guess it is because the grille itself so big.
