Updated Lexus LX to debut at Detroit Auto Show
A spokesperson from Lexus has confirmed that an updated version of the company's range-topping LX 570 sport utility vehicle will debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show next month. The current LX – and its corporate cousin, the Toyota Land Cruiser – have been with us since the 2008 model year, so it's about time for a nip/tuck.
Don't expect a major overhaul, however. Bill Kwong, Lexus Communications Specialist, tells Autoblog that the changes to the LX will mostly be cosmetic, consisting of slightly updated sheetmetal as well as changes to both the front and rear fascias. We expect the interior to carry over largely unchanged (perhaps some infotainment upgrades), and the 5.7-liter V8 underhood will likely carry over, as well, though some slight massaging for the sake of fuel economy could be in order.
Still, Lexus knows that the $80,000 LX is not a high volume model here in the United States. Kwong reminds Autoblog that changes to the LX as a whole are largely dictated by the European and Australian markets, where the vehicle has more substantial sales figures. In 2010, Lexus moved just 3,983 LX 570s here in the States. During the same year, Cadillac sold 26,874 Escalade SUVs and Mercedes-Benz hustled 19,943 GL-Class models out the door.

^^ np!
I gotta say I love the LX, but it does need a bit of a kick in the pants. Styling aside the QX56 is a really good competitor and its interior is impressive. The LX's is just as plush and user friendly, but I would like to see it a bit more special. Like you said Mike, a new grill is likely though my wish for an 8-speed auto will probably have to wait.
On a side note, I drove the 49ers Jim Harbaugh's LX570 today!!

It makes sense.
Because the MMC facelift for the LC 200 (that it's based on) is also coming soon.
P.S.
Yeah, I heard about it before. You can blame your NTSB/FCC for that
Thankfully, models for rest-of-the-world aren't affected by this (and have HID Xenon headlamps)

Looking forward to this. I always thought the LX470 was a better looking truck...I don't care for the 570's minivan-looking butt or those wheels. A refreshening to the front and rear could be exactly what the truck needs.
Also, those rims on the LC above look nice...I think they are the USDM Sequioa rims. I have always thought those wheels, or the 20" 5-spoke ones from the Tundra would look nice on the LX. I just don't think a multispoke wheel like Lexus uses now looks right on a full size SUV.

For the LC150, only the 3.0 V6 diesel is available and some markets may have a 2.7 liter petrol engine. Here in the Philippines, we have both the 3.0 V6 diesel and 4.0 liter gasoline being sold.

^^^Haha agreed
1VD-FTV + hybrid motor = BEST TOYOTA SUV TO-DATE!!!
Though, it would have to pass US EPA Tier 2 Bin 5/California SULEV-II in order to be sold in your country.
But yeah either way, if I had money, I'd go for it hehe :P
