Fifth Gear lines up Audi RS5 vs. Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe

The menacing Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG coupe is slowly making its way into dealerships, ready to eat the souls of any driver willing to tame the 451-horsepower super coupe. It's a hardcore two-door with a naturally aspirated V8 powerplant under the hood, and in our recent stint behind the wheel, we fell head-over-heels in love.

But the C63 isn't the only hot super coupe on the block. The Audi RS5 – a model that will soon be available Stateside – offers 444 horsepower but puts that grunt to the ground via all-wheel drive. It's not as outright vicious as the Merc, but it's certainly capable of standing toe-to-toe, particularly on wet tarmac.

That in mind, the folks at Fifth Gear took these two coupes to the Cadwell Park circuit in Lincolnshire, Great Britain to see which German could pull off the quickest lap time.

Excellent video.

For these two cars based on the interior, exterior, motor and my hard earned $$$s I'd pick the RS5 any day.

Among these two I probably would go for C63 AMG due to its RWD layout. But I would still pick the 5 year old M3 over these two.

I wonder how they compare on a dry track. I really like the styling of the RS5 but the C coupe isn't bad either.

Im pretty certain the rs5 will be a good $10k more than the c63; seeing as how the rs4 was priced compared to the c63 sedan

RS5 rules... even at $10K more but not sure price had been confirmed... isn't it supposed to be here Spring 2012?

Both cars are simply gorgeous

With that said:
I wonder what the result would have been though if the MB C coupe used was the BLACK SERIES one?
