I am poor, that's why I must do that Your way is much more exciting though, but only ballers can afford that
I hate buying and selling, also once I narrow down exactly what I want, there usually just one single car fulfill that exact requirement, so it is pointless for me to keep switching cars, I would be just switching to the same model of car

I have realized a few reasons for that after all these years:
1, You must figure out very clearly what exactly that you want, amount of speed, handling, sounds, utilities, prestige and how much you want to spend. Most people don't spend a whole lot of time to really narrow down exactly what they want, they just buy something new that came out that excite them at the moment, but the car actually don't exactly fit their needs or preferences.
2, For a car enthusiast, it is really necessary to have multiple cars, at least 2, more is of course better. The reason for that is, every car serve a different purpose, and we need a different car to fit our constantly changing moods. 2 is good, one for comfort and utilities, the other is for fun. If you only have one car, half of the time you don't like it because it doesn't suit your needs at those moments, so over time you think you don't like the car anymore. I am not bragging or talking smack, I really think that is the case. Also we get bored driving the same car everyday, after a few months or a year or so, we are sick of it. If we can switch between at least 2 cars, the freshness last A LOT longer. It works for any budget also, you just have to own 2 cars that cost half as much as one expensive one. I think it works better to own 2 cheaper cars then one expensive one. Is hard though, now that I am doing the 2 cars system that is working perfectly for me, once in a while I still think about maybe I should combine the 2 into one twice as expensive car.
Those are my conclusions after my experiences.

What kind of educational institutions charge that much?

Haha, you know what would be awesome: To have more cars than Jay Leno's garage.
