The clean and modern styling, coupled with the mpg's makes the Audi a winner for me.
Agreed with the others, it's rediculous not including the S or even LS in this comparo.

I suspect (but can't prove) that the reason that they included the Equus this time, but not the LS460, is that the Equus, today, is playing more or less the same role (and competition) against the Euro-luxury cars as the LS did in the 1990s. Having the LS might have been redundant. As far as the S goes, the reasons seem less-clear, but it could be that, with three Europeans already in the test, they didn't want (or need ) a fourth one.

Am I the only one who got the feeling that they just don't like the LS? The article does state that the excluded it since it lost last year and space constraints. But they seem to target the LS as being inferior more so than just logistics. The S is barely mentioned.

ok, disregard, I just re-read it and the 'hate' wasn't as strong as I felt during my first read.

If they include the LS, it would fall on the last place anyway, CD and R&T never favor Lexus. I still remember LS460 place last when it first came out in CD 2007 Issue. I understand having a Large luxury car with powerful motor and spoty handling, that's why I always wanted a 7 series, but in the end, I purchased 2 LS UL, one in 2005 one in 2009. Because when the heat cools, I realized what I really want from a Luxury sedan is comfort, class, amenties, and RELIABILITY.

As nice as AUDI and JAG is, their resale value is just BADDDD.
7 and S is very nice but reliability is a huge issue. ( my friend's 2007 750LI's motor just blow up @80K miles. )

Even if older, both the LS and the S have been improved subtly. it's pretty ridiculous not to include them when they are both pretty much benchmarks and top sellers. New engines, new suspension, etc. I would still take the S over any car in this comparison.

I think it was R&T or someone else who did a pretty full review and the LS finished a respectable 4th (Panamera was included) and of course the Equus was last. As stated it feels like something made in 1992.

Agreed, the Panamera should also have been included in this comparo. I've never been in or driven an Equus, but I'll take your word on that. LOL
