Slight tangent, but I'm sad that these cars are growing in size and weight, and they keep adding horsepower to compensate. Agreed. The single thing that bothers me most about the new 5 Series is the fact that it gained 400lbs.. . I think BMW and the others need to take a page out of Jaguar/Audi's book with lightweight metal chassis. If you compare say an XJ and A8 with their NA V8s (375hp 372hp respectively), lightweight frames vs 7 Series and S-Class FI V8 (ball park 400hp each), fuel economy and performance both measure out to on par. We'll see what the future has in store. Audi wants to shed 700lbs off the next Q7, and Ford wants to do the same with their entire line-up.
