For several reasons, the Crown Vic was a durable, practical car for cops and taxi-drivers, but I don't think it was a car that most of you would have wanted to own or drive every day, particularly in dense-traffic areas. It was heavy, ponderous, not particularly quick even with the higher-output-spec engines, bulky, difficult to park, and had power-steering that was absurdly light and devoid of road-feel. What's more, its front-engined/RWD layout, even with electronic traction-aids, had little grip on slippery roads, unless you put on tire-chains or studded-tires (where studs are allowed).

Yeah, the Impalas sucked.

I'm 5'9" and some of the newer Crown Vic seats are snug and tight in the cabin, but for the rear seat, I'm never back there so I don't care how tight it is!

The Chargers drive like they are on rails, but I still think they are cramped and they have the lower roof line with hurts 360 visibility.

i find that the crappiest looking 240s are the ones with the biggest turbos/most insane swaps under the hood

isn''t running from a traffic stop usually worth a WAY bigger penalty (criminal misdemeanor no?) than just getting the ticket and fighting that?

Yes. True, but the 240 sounded like it had the stock KA in it with just exhaust.

Not trying to be contrary here, but who cares if the crown vic is dead. I will just watch out for the chargers now I guess. Its not like the car was anything that enthusiasts even cared about. They were driven by cops and the elderly. Nobody other than a person in their 80's or a broke person who bought the car from an auction would even entertain the idea of driving one. Cops had no choice but at least they have the newer models to chase people with

There was an article in the Trib yesterday saying the city isn't going to use Tahoes anymore. Probably going with Chargers and Impalas. It sounded like the cops didn't like them that much for a variety of reasons.

Did anyone read the part about how they left 5 cars on the line cause they ran out of parts no parts for a Crown Vic, would be like saying no parts for a Camry
