That still doesn't mean she didn't have a "flip-flop" failure. If her foot was stuck to the accelerator she likely couldn't have used that foot to brake, panicked, didn't think to use her left foot and crashed. I think it's interesting from that second article:

When do officers ever give out information like that before it's been confirmed?

thats what i thought too - but it is flip flops, main problem with them getting stuck is that your foot gets out and they are still stuck down there... she could have brake.

also she had her arm in cast up until elbow... she probably shouldnt have been driving that car at all.
