Video: Supercharged Corvette Z06 lines up against Koenigsegg CCXR
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to today's main event at the mile-long drag races. In one corner, we have American Muscle from Detroit Rock City, a blown Chevrolet Corvette Z06 producing 700 horsepower. In the other corner sits one Savage Swede Supercar; a 1,024-horsepower Koenigsegg CCXR. This is bout is scheduled for one round, with the winner being the first one to cross the line.
??????????????? some thing is not right. 300 horses and that far behind. 700 horses and a 12.3 1/4 mile NO WAY !!!!!!!!!!!. stock z06s are in the high 11s
Poor drivers. I think even the stock C5 Z06 could pull mid 12 second 1/4 mile runs. With 700HP that C6 Z06 should have been in the mid to high 11's easy even on street tires. It still probably was fun drag racing a supercar though

That's because it's not a 300 HP difference. If you read around after this was posted, the Corvette was making over 700 and that is not a CCX-R, but a regular CCX, which makes a shade over 800. This is simply one driver going around the other. Put a competent driver in the CCX, and it walks that Corvette - especially when you consider the weight differential of over 500 lbs (2601 for the CCX, 3175 for the Corvette Z06).
BTW - a CCX-R, when given regular gas (not ethanol/E85) makes 800+ horsepower, so it would appear that if it is a CCX-R (I honestly don't think you can tell a difference visually in the video, but could be wrong on that), it may have been running on gas and not ethanol. Either way, it should have put that Corvette under.
