Expect a Loyalty Rebate Soon
Yesterday I received another Lexus Ad Board Survey
The focus was about the impact on getting the model specified to your liking due to the situation in Japan.
It looks like Lexus is putting together a rebate to reward folks for loyalty
My sense of the thing is that if you have to wait for the car you want, they will give a $1500 rebate and something else.
The something else was either a 30K service coupon (yes), $150 Lexus visa points to use at the dealer (OK), 12 months of some Lexus BS program called Safety connect (F that) or 12 months of XM (Double F that)
I am just happy that they give me some open text fields to rip on them for not building a vert with a roomy back seat, sticking us with iDrive and putting Lexus badges on a bunch of FWD Toyotas to boost volume (and short term profits) at the expense of the brand

lol wut? Rant maybe at the end?
Not buying anything soon so the rebate does nothing for me. I still have the $1000 one laying around for the recall. Doubt a GS F would debut next spring, just the regular models and probably not even the hybrid.
I do agree Lexus needs to get some products up top, new GS, new SC and maybe a LS coupe etc...

Yes, I like to rant.
The point is they know they are stung with inventory limitations issues due to the disaster and are trying to put something together to throw a bone at customers who are looking to buy soon for hanging in there.
The ranting from me is because they would be better off putting out blow your mind cars and not doing hype o rama reveals like they just did for the GS. I mean they didn't even provide a decent shot of the interior. I also wailed on them for that joke fest.

To clarify, here is how I expect this to work.
If you are a new car shopper and you go in to your friendly Lexus dealer and say, I want a white ISF and all they have are blue ones with no white one available for 2 months, the dealer says, Lexus wants your biz so much that if you can wait for the car you really want, we will give you a $1500 rebate and a free 30K service.
