Can't wait for Sicklex to come back with a lame Jersey Shore joke.
Actually you drive the rebadged Nissan Skyline and he drives a platform shared Camry. That fact eludes you in an attempt to dismiss the ES.

He did not ask for financial advice, he asked for car advice. This is car chat, not the WSJ forum.

come to think of it, 100k doesn't really get you much these days eh? not even a decently loaded 911.

When I see these threads I think
  • If you really have 100k to spend and can afford it, you have 120k to spend.
  • Reality is 100k is the max and a figure people like to use, so chances are 60-70 is realistic
  • Buyer probably doesn’t know much about car others than he wants something baller

So go buy a S5 or Cayman and call it a day already

Right. The intense desire to Keep Up With the Jones's sometimes overrules a person's common sense. Me, I'd never put 100K into a car....probably 30 or 40 max. There are other things in life that could come up at any moment (medical bills, litigation, problems around the house, etc....) where you may need to have that money in the bank for an emergency.

I did my part, Mike, in an early reply on the first page.

My opinion (...I don't care if it meets criteria this is what I would do with it):

1 - Used ZR1
2- Used 911 Turbo
3 - New GT-R
4 - Used Gallardo
5 - Used R8

but...I'd rather even divide that up more. If I had 100K I would rather have a few awesome used cars than 1 really expensive car. Probably buy a truck and something else. Having a beater daily is much better IMO than driving something really nice. You will worry about it everywhere you park it...etc.

I'll buy you one if you can find me where to buy one brand new and for less than $100K.

i dont see 99% of the cars people suggest here as luxury coupes.

indeed... i dont understand it... why does anyone care if someone spends 100k on the car? it is their decision, even if it is only 100k they have.

every time I look at that jag though, I just see what it could have been, an Aston. It looks good but its not perfect. Its almost like the designer purposely made it worse so that it could made the v8 vantage
