Default Lexus TV ads: few and far between?

Maybe the shortage of cars is really starting to hit. For about a month now, I've not seen any Lexus ads on TV advertising the usual loss leader lease deals. Ads are usually very strong this time of year, as the model year is closing out and people are learning about the next ones coming. Things were definitely cooking this time last year.

So what do you all think? Economy improving equates to worse rates, or shortage of cars?

You must not be watching the Golf Channel, History Channel, and your local Fox Sports affiliate.

I've been seeing the CT and Lexus #1 in value etc ads quite often. They seem to still be running the IS drifting ad around the Germans as well.

I do feel they could do more though.

I've been seeing the CT ad all the time. It's a terribly done ad BTW. Bad CGI, bad voice over, bad music. Doesn't sell the car well.

The CT ad showing the car scrambling through a bunch of downtown city streets tries to pass the car off as "the world's most fuel-efficient luxury car". Though it's a nice small hatchback, the CT is not what I would call a luxury car by any means. I wrote, in my CT review, that I thought it should have been marketed as a Toyota instead of a Lexus.....I still feel that way.

I'm seeing pretty good Lexus exposure on TV ads in CA lately. I also noticed Lexus was a big sponser on the tennis tournament in Madrid that just ended last weekend.

I've seen a fairly good of Lexus commercials as well, notably the resale value one, the CT200h, and "The hard way" or something of that nature. I only have channels 2, 4, and 5 due to my off the air reception at my location, so that's not too bad. Hopefully they have new and different ones coming out.

Lexus/Toyota have said that they will cut back incentives and advertising, but obviously only to certain point.

it is not like they dont have any cars to sell.... a lot of the cars had healthy supplies and they are available... problem is with newer cars like CT and RX which are in high demand. I think in April Lexus had only 16 days of RC450h.

I guess it depends on what channels you watch. I see Lexus commercials frequently while watching NBA playoffs.

I see a decent number of Lexus commercials playing, but not as many as the Hyundai Trade In Guarantee/Assurance or the Ford Interview commercials. Acura with "Aggression in it's most elegant form" blah blah. Chevy runs deep etc.. for the most part I think it's pretty balanced

What I'm not seeing are the ads that end in the lease payment. But yeah, still seeing the non-lease commercials for the RX and CT.

I've only seen IS-F and CT commercials.
