Default Leaving my cars for 18 days.

Hey guys i'm going to the Philippines next Wednesday so that means my two cars a Nissan Pathfinder and Mazda MPV will be sitting in my driveway for the following 18 days. Is there anything I need to do before I go and leave them there, or will they be fine just sitting in the driveway? Just need to know, don't want to come home and then have two cars with issues to deal with thanks a bunch!

Fill up the gas tank to avoid water condensation in the tank. That's about all you should need to do. 18 days isn't tooo long, not long enough to need to worry about fluids breaking down or anything. Your gonna leave em on your driveway tho? No garage space?

Besides filling up the gas, I think it should be fine. My cars have gone weeks without being driven and I haven't had any issues.

Disconnect the battery too right?

Do you have a neighbor that can maybe move them around every once in awhile so they are not just sitting in the same spots for nearly 3 weeks.

Well for obvious reasons, don't leave any lights or whatever thing in the car that will consume the car's battery (as it will cause the battery to discharge and yeah, you won't be able to start the car without a jumpstart etc.)

Anyways, that's all I can say for now.

P.S.
@LexusChris

Hope you get to enjoy your visit to the Philippines.

Hope you live in a good area so you don;t have to come home to a broken into car.....we've experienced it after coming home from NYC when we left the car at the airport. Besides what other people have said, you should be ok

fill the tank and make sure the interior is free of any valuables that may attract teenage thieves. You should be fine. You may want to have a set of jumper cables ready when you get home in case you have a dead battery

It would be nice if you safely connect a battery tender to each of the cars while you're gone. That way your batteries will not go fully drained, not good for long term life of batteries.

Battery tender is a giveaway that you're gone.

Besides removing anything of value, I'd at least disconnect the battery or pull an essential fuse or two to make sure the car isn't stolen. Cheap insurance for peace of mind.

To be honest, I'd be way more concerned about the house than your vehicles. 1Sick's idea of moving them around is a good one.

Have a good trip. Good chance I might go there in 2012 for 2 weeks.

I've left cars in garage for 2 weeks, no problem.

You may want to have a family member come check on the cars every few days.

Enjoy your trip, kababayan!

Your cars should be fine. I started up my garage queens only twice a month throughout the whole winter. They always started, even when it was 0 degrees, and now the weather is just getting better so you should be good.

Your car should be just fine, it's only 2 weeks and some change. I've had guys leave their car in a parking lot for their 7 month deployment and jumped right in and drove off with their car the day we got back (just needed some air in their tires and reconnect the battery).
