Default Subaru XV concept

SUBARU XV CONCEPT
The SUBARU XV CONCEPT is a design concept car that defines a new generation of crossover vehicle, blending exceptional SUV practicality with a fashionable form. It was specifically designed for customers who are looking for a vehicle offering looks, benefits and a packaging that stretch beyond those from the populated crowd of existing crossover models. At its heart is the core theme of "Enjoyment and Peace of mind", and a promise to deliver, in line with Subaru's new brand statement, "Confidence in Motion". With truly innovative styling, this new generation design concept car combines Subaru's Crossover-like driving excitement with a revolutionary inspiring feel, playful nature, the proven comfort and reliability of the renowned Subaru's Symmetrical AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system.

FHI will also showcase the Subaru's unique technical exhibits including the Outback model's cut body and Boxer Engines, and the Chinese rally car. With these displays and throughout the booth design, FHI will showcase Subaru's efforts to integrate enjoyable and reliable driving and peace of mind, based on the Subaru's core technologies of "Symmetrical AWD" and "Horizontally-Opposed Boxer Engine". The press conference is scheduled at the Subaru booth on April 19, at 11.00h.

There probably won't be another Tribeca. Sales are just too low on the existing model.....though not quite as bad as when it had the controversial Alfa-grille. The concept above also looks a little too small, IMO, to be the next U.S.-market Outback, especially considering that Outback sales jumped with the last redesign in 2010, which significantly bumped up its height and width.

The look of a jacked-up 4WD car = fail. Has the same homely lines as silly AMC Eagle wagon.

XV = Impreza Outback in Australia. If you overlay the profile pic of the new Impreza sedan w this picture they line up perfectly (except for the hatch region obviously). Just to give you an idea of what exactly this car is.

eh... Impreza XV is slightly jacked up Impreza... by 2 inches.

This is an SUV.

Cant get too excited after Impreza Concept > 2012 Impreza.

Subaru is definitely in the AWD SUV crossover business, a majority of sales soon enough.

Clean with a lot of small aesthetic details, but nothing spectacular, which is appropriate for an Outback.

A bit too much plastic on the outside (lower body kit, fenders), but the inside is handsome, albeit unimaginative.

Don't forget, though, that it was the pioneering work that AMC did with the Eagle and Eagle SX4, especially with center-differentials and viscous-couplings, that made later car-based AWD systems like the Audi Quattro and Subaru Symmetrical AWD possible. The Eagle, though admittedly poorly-built and unreliable, was a car that was way ahead of its time.
