concept seems like is-f front (from side) and last gen 5 series from back, and kinda audi a6 (grill and side profile). i don't think it flows that well, but it's a concept which is kinda like 'throw a bunch of stuff out' and see what the public says.

Anytime everyone looks at the actual reveal, goes "hmmm", and then start doodling away in Photoshop it means that what we're presented with is not making an immediate positive impression. I'm still willing to give it a chance and there is a whole next phase of development toward production to come. Still, I was really looking forward to this but as for this concept, color me disappointed.

The IS/GS/LS/ES have always looked different while sharing cues. I do not want them to all look too similar.
I agree! Even with the 1st gen SC, LS, GS, and ES, they all were different looking but had that Lexus vibe to unify them somehow.

I don't want an LS looking like an elongated IS for example (no offense to the IS).

Here's proof that the LF-Gh is not a static display car. Here it is driving around the streets here in SoCal in the Phillips Ranch (Pomona) and Diamond Bar areas LOL. Most of the backdrops were taken at Diamond Ranch HS in Diamond Bar.

IF that final production version would be as stylish as that concept model, then the Lexus GS will be a guaranteed winner (at least in the design department)

if that gaping grille were ever allowed to enter production, it would alienate a LOT of people. I bet it would be a sales failure.

Lets kill this right now
GS was the third best selling in class until 2009 or so. Not bad considering the crappy lease residuals on the GS compared to a lot of the competition. The GS nor any other car in this class will sell like the 5 or E class. Period. Also not bad considering the 3GS never put the world on fire. Not bad considering there is more competition than the 2GS ever had.

The 3GS sold over 32,000 units in 2006 in 11 months as it started sales in February. No other sedan has sold that many vehicles in class that isn't an E-class or 5 series (which sell around 50k+ in their best years).

Now this go round I have no idea of sales goals but Audi is brining a value leader, a FWD, I-4 A6 that gets 32 MPG highway that will be the entry level model. We know the 5 and E are selling like hotcakes. The XF is V-8 only and has no V-6 offering here. The 9-5, RL are afterthoughts. The M37/56 has flopped this generation.

So things look good for Lexus if they get drive, pricing, interior, options and advertising right. The 3GS had terrible advertising.

from the short driving part at the end and the little spurt of acceleration, the car seems exceptionally quiet
