17 - 34 year old men think BMW is more prestigious than Ferrari, Lamborghini, AM and Bentley....LMAO!

Going to have to guess that because they can afford BMW's is why they rank it so highly.

The overall brand rankings is an interesting read.

Interesting to see the slight differences between men and women. I agree wtih G Star. BMW has some good cars, but prestigious? I'd personally rank Audi over BMW. I can't see why Aston Martin, as a guy, isn't higher up on this list either.

Well, I guess you could say:

Just because they're guys, doesn't mean they're sophisticated.

They don't show some details that I would like to see to better judge how these people were surveyed but the pool of survey(ees) wasn't large.

Total people polled: 448
55% female / 45% male
83% 'expected' to earn 100k+/year in the short term (24 months).

BMW still doesn't make sense to me..haha

That is what I thought, people lean towards what they may be able to afford one day even if used. Hard to say BMW over Ferrari on any day..............

And the overall brand rankings are very interesting, crazy to see where the auto makers rank in the top 100 over all, Lexus dropped down a bit.

I came across this article as I was doing research to support my new business model, what this generation and I assume the next couple think about brands is far different then what our parents thought.

Too funny.

The first thing that went through my mind when I looked at the full list was, "how can I make money off of this?"

Great minds....

Not to go off topic but it’s crazy how stagnant people \ companies can be and many are getting left behind by not adapting.

I like to cross compare industries, can always learn something new.

But in terms of branding I see on the Female side that Chanel that is #1, which I can understand. As my wife shops for this stuff I often ask, how much do you think that cost to make? I think most women know their paying ridiculous markups and simply don’t care. You see a Prada bag made out of nylon and its $800, huh?

So what does that say about the “epic products”, worth their weight or simply over inflated because of branding? Bit of both, sure.

Where does that leave Lexus ranked at 16th and 19th overall, are they a true value play or simply just not as prestigious?

That is a pretty interesting article.

I don't see BMW being higher up than Mercedes. I can maybe see them being slightly above Audi or Lexus, but not by much.

nice survey.

i don't expect men to know even 25% of the crap that was surveyed.
most of that is women's stuff.

It's interesting that audi is considered epic........ and I attribute that to the halo car R8 that has been thrown into hollywood films.... yet audi sales are **** poor in the US.
If audi is so epic and desirable, how come more people aren't snapping them up at benz and bmw sales levels?

I'd personally rather have a trusty BFF than something so "epic" that it suffers an EPIC FAIL.

when you're talking about an $800 nylon bag, you're talking about being a walking billboard.

I hate advertising for companies; dumb stuff like wearing A&F logo t-shirts. I buy an item of any brand because of quality, foremost.
Fortunately, the survey shows that most people value quality above all else.
So brand hwores aren't all that stupid.

Lexus is not as prestigious, but it gets respect among the wealthy.
I guess it's the never ending propaganda that lexus are just rebadged toyotas....... and the fact that the lineup is not as exciting. We'll see whether increased media exposure of the LFA will change that perception.
