I have a '93 ls, but i must confess this post relates to a '98 avalon i just bought, to replace an old buick lesabre. and yes, except for headroom, the avalon really is the "buick" built by toyota. my question relates to the referenced struts. can these be substantially adjusted ftrom stiffer to softer ride? i searched for "kyb" and "adjustable" and got nowhere. i'd like a stiffer ride around town and in the mountains. but we are going to drive it (the avalon) from denver to new york this summer and i'd like to be able to adjust it to a much softer ride for the interstate. how much can one really adjust these things? and how easy is it to do? anyone have any experience with this? i'm not looking to lower the car or slam it. i just want to adjust the ride to conditions.

according to their website, gas-a-just adjusts automatically to the driving condition. if you want to adjust the damping manual, you might want to go for the kyb agx.

The only shocks KYB makes that has external ***** for adjusting the damping is the AGX. Ironically, the gas-a-just cannot be adjusted.
