Default Which Cars Have The Best Seats?

I'm not in intense pain and I usually drive my work truck more than my LS but I'm wondering who's are of the more supportive.

My Ford Explorer gives me a mid-back ache after about an hour or so. I don't think I've ever driven my LS for more than an hour at a time but the seats in it seem wonderful. I also like the seats in the 2003 and up S-class.

I don't have enough experience to make the definitive call, but who would you say has the most supportive seats?

Great thread, we were talking seats in the 3GS forum. For me in a Lexus the LS and first gen SC have great seats. Then maybe IS 300 and IS F. LFA are out of this world but tight.

Ever thought about a car seat cushion?

I have...but I'm only 31 years old and can't bring myself to do it lol. Anyway it almost feels like I need firmer support just right of my left shoulder blade. It's almost as if I need a hard seat...like leaning on a wall.

lol, I am 32 and on long trims the seats in our RXh and GSh do hurt my legs, I need a seat extender b/c my legs are long. Never thought in my life that I would be seriously considering seat comfort for a car purchase. Damn age!

I love the seats in the LS 460/600, tons of ways to adjust. I also love the seat adjustments in German cars, the 5/7 E/S for example.

Volvo seats where designed by a Chiropractor, they are the most comfortable seats to sit in.

For lower back pain, do some basic crunches, amazing how your back will feel better in such a short time

I'm afraid that's out too man. I have a cyst on my tailbone. I'm supposed to get it excised in October.

God, at this rate My '98 Explorer will have less physical problems than I do.

i believe that's a 98 with a ton of miles on it, right?

my '06 explorer has THE most comfortable seats i've ever had in a vehicle, comfortable for hours and hours of driving. i didn't expect it, and was pleasantly surprised.

i enjoyed my lexus gs seats, but always got backache after about 2 hours of driving.

the seats in my acura legends were pretty good too, but for long trips, the explorer seats are better.

A friend of mine used to take a few friends and I on trips to Atlantic City, New Jersey about once every 2 months or so (about a 2-hour ride from where I live). Riding shotgun in his 2006 MB S430 was sooooo comfortable...especially with the suspension in "comfort" mode.

Yeah. Mine are gray cloth seats. The suspension feels like hell but mine is the Sport (2-door). I'm not sure if it made a difference for that body style.

Volvo and Benz has pretty good seats. Some Toyota and Lexus models also have good seats. The LS in particular has great seats.

Every time I "build" a BMW, it baffles me that a large portion of their vehicles don't have lumbar support as standard...
