haha touche.

i guess what i was trying to say is driving an avantador vs huracan won't be that much of a difference, just like a lot of other exotics. they all run into a lot of common "cons"

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster goes up in flames during media demonstration in Australia

'This is not what usually happens'

During a media presentation at Phillip Island race track in Victoria, Australia, a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster caught fire.

The open-top supercar was brand new as it was recently shipped from Italy for several test drive days involving the media and more important, prospective buyers. The Aventador Roadster did a considerable number of laps without any incidents but at one point smoke and flames appeared behind the cabin during the final hours of the test day.

The incident occurred while Top Gear Australia editor Tim Keen was behind the wheel and was promptly asked to stop the car and get out as soon as possible. Lamborghini's head of south-east Asia and Pacific, Sebastien Henry, asked the media which witnessed the event not to write about the incident because "this is not what usually happens." According to Fairfax Media, Lamborghini forced at least one media outlet to delete images and video footage of the burning Aventador Roadster.

It is believed the fire was caused by an oil leak and Henry said "the issue was accidental due to the vehicle's extended track use in a high-temperature environment."

Default Why Did the Old Man Throw a Stone at the Lamborghini Aventador?

Unlike the classic joke about the chicken crossing the road, this question regarding the older man in the baby blue shirt throwing rocks at a Lamborghini Aventador does have a definitive answer: he was clearly annoyed with the driver.

In the VVS (Vertical Video Syndrome) footage, the man is heard yelling "Keep racing" to the driver of the Lamborghini and then proceeds to throw a rock that hits the Italian exotic.

Now, whether he was being a "****" as the video author says in the clip, or if he had genuine reasons to be mad at the Lamborghini driver is another story that we don't get to find out – though, the presence of the guy filming it would suggest that the Aventador was doing several passes on the road.

Nevertheless, like the guys over at Jalopnik said, it would have been wiser and more mature to call in the cops to get whatever issues he had with the motorist straightened out without resulting to violent acts.

Default Lamborghini Aventador LP988 Edizione GT fully revealed by DMC

Packs 988 PS

After a teaser and a preview, DMC has fully revealed its outrageous Lamborghini Aventador LP998 Edizione GT.

DMC seems to have a soft spot for the Lamborghini Aventador as over the years they have launched numerous customized versions, culminating with this LP998 Edizione GT which is even more extravagant than its predecessors. They say its extremely aggressive and wide body kit was developed to meet FIA regulations without compromising the car's street-legal status.

Priced at 288,888 USD (without car), the upgrade kit includes among others a gigantic rear diffuser and an equally large wing featuring three manually-adjustable angles, with both pieces being manufactured from carbon fiber.

There's also a centrally-positioned quad exhaust arrangement and a big front spoiler lip made from the same lightweight material. Other ingredients on the menu include the large multi-spoke black alloy wheels and a red & black two-tone leather upholstery inside the cabin where there are carbon fiber side sills.

Aside from the menacing exterior makeover, DMC also worked on the V12 6.5-liter engine by installing individual throttle plates for each cylinder, new modulators, fuel lines, fuel pumps and injection nozzles, along with a twin-turbo modification and a remapped ECU. The tuner doesn't specify the engine's output but given the "LP988" in the designation, it's safe to say power was increased from the series 700 PS (515 kW) to 988 PS (727 kW).

Whole package costs 37,118 USD

Japanese tuner Liberty Walk has radically restyled the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.

It was only yesterday when we saw DMC’s massively customized Aventador and now Liberty Walk has released an extensive customization program for the flagship Lamborghini which features a wide body kit manufactured from fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) priced at 25,860 USD. It contains a redesigned front bumper together with front canard, side diffuser, a large rear wing and diffuser. These parts can also be had in carbon fiber but the price jumps to 30,618 USD.

These new body components can be had individually purchased and Liberty Walk can also provide different fenders (6,500 USD) together with a lowered sports suspension (3,780 USD). The whole shebang as seen in these images is priced at 37,118 USD and doesn't include any upgrades for the 700 PS V12 6.5-liter engine. For those who want more power, the aforementioned DMC Aventador packs a massive 988 PS.

Default Lamborghini Aventador SV coming in a few months - report

Company could already be accepting orders

According to a recent report, Lamborghini will introduce an Aventador SV shortly.

Details are limited but Team Salamone - from Gumball rally fame - is claiming they have ordered the first Aventador SV. According to them, the model will be introduced "in months from now" and production will occur shortly afterwards.

We're taking everything with a grain of salt but the Aventador SV would likely follow in the footsteps of the Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce and feature an aggressive body kit, a minimalist interior and a number of weight saving measures. The car could also have an upgraded engine but nothing is official as of yet.

Default DMC's Edizione-GT Package for Lamborghini Aventador Costs $288,888

Click here to view more photos

German tuning firm DMC has announced pricing for its LP988 Edizione GT package for the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.

If you go for the full nine yards, it will cost you $288,888, not including the price of the car itself that retails from $397,500 in the States, bringing the total price to $686,388.

This gets you a twin-turbo conversion and a new ECU for an undisclosed power upgrade over the stock 6.5-liter V12's 700PS or 690hp – though, we assume the LP988 name given to the kit should correspond to 988PS or 975hp.

There's also a set of forged alloy wheels and tires, new suspension parts, a host of interior refinements including leather surfaces, carbon fiber trims, redesigned steering wheel and a carbon fiber body kit with newly styled front and rear bumpers, an engine-bonnet replacement, side skirts and an adjustable rear wing.

If you only want the aero kit, it will cost you more than a Porsche 911 Carrera at $89,990 – not including assembly, with DMC offering to ship it to you.

Speaking of the body kit, DMC mentions:

"Honestly we have never seen so much Carbon fiber on a Lamborghini before, but we guess there's no such thing as 'too much' when it comes to light-weight composites and super-cars, do you agree?"

We'll partially agree, as someone needs to tell them about the Sesto Elemento….

Default Liberty Walk Lamborghini Aventador first images released

Click here to view more photos

Based on the Anniversario

Japanese tuners from Liberty Walk have released first official photos of their latest project, based on the Lamborghini Aventador.

Actually built around an Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversario, the new aerodynamic kit is priced at $37,118 (around 29,000 EUR). Finished in bright blue, it includes bigger wheel arches, new side skirts and front bumper, manufactured from lightweight carbon fiber. The tuning company has also upgraded the exhaust system of the Italian supercar.

At the moment details are limited, but Liberty Walks promises to release full information along with more pictures and videos in the coming weeks or months. As a reminder, previous LB Aventadors were limited only to visual modifications with no engine upgrades.

Default Lamborghini Aventador SV spied for the first time

SuperVeloce is coming

The Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce (SV) has been spied for the first time while undergoing testing.

The sinister-looking black prototype was spotted on an Italian highway and as you can see it's quite different than the regular Aventador LP700-4. Gone is the centrally-positioned large exhaust opening as this has been replaced by an exposed quad pipe arrangement but obviously it's not the final layout as it looks unfinished. Moreover, there's an aggressive diffuser and a reshaped bumper while below the taillights are additional vents providing more cooling.

The Lamborghini Aventador SV will likely use the same recipe as its predecessor, the Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, so expect a more aggressive body, a significant weight reduction (Murcielago SV lost 100 kg) and more power (Murcielago SV gained 30 HP) coming from an uprated V12 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine which in its current configuration produces 700 HP (515 kW) in the standard model and 720 HP (529 kW) in the limited-run Anniversario model.

There's no word about a launch date but chances are Lamborghini will bring the Aventador SV to the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 or wait until September for the Frankfurt Motor Show.
