Testing a MAF without a car
I bought a MAF for another car I have (not a Lexus). The guy shipped me the wrong MAF and then dropped off the planet. I can't get the Audi forum guys to respond on how to test it but would anyone know of a way to test or have a MAF tested? He shipped me an audi RS4 MAF and I don't exactly have one of those laying around.

It's not for my LS400, I bought it because my '03 A6 needed one but I got sent one for an RS4... I'm asking here because testing MAF's is probably a pretty standard procedure and I found nothing helpful googling it.

Acidic; there is a way to test it with an ohm meter. No idea what any kind of specs would be for that.
python; You got an AFM for a gen 1? Is it good, what's the specs on that one? You want to sell it, how much shipped to 06010? (other side of the country) I need one for my 93 but can't afford J/Y price right now.

it doesn't fit your car? I have access to a repair web site if you tell me what year the RS4 Maf is. It appears that there is no RS4 for the 2003 model year. I'll give you the procedures.

The maf fits these cars in the range of 1997-2004 depending on the model (B5/ = 1997-2001, B6 is 2001-2004, C5 = 1993-2003 on the S6)
* Audi A6 allroad 2.7T
* Audi A6 C5 2.7T
* Audi S4 B5
* Audi S4 B6
* Audi S4 B7
* Audi S6 C5
* Audi S8 D2

It's just that your question wasn't LS specific. I think if you asked this same question in the "Car Chat" section you would have gotten different, and better, answers. Some people, including me, have a good sense of humor, (which is good) don't take it personally. We all need to laugh sometime.

Bosch MAF
Sorry dude. all the test are for Voltage. and it requires you to back probe the harness with the MAF on the Car. The only thing I could think of is check the resitance from pin 2 to pin 3. then pin 1 to pin 3. with a DVOM if you get an OL( out of limit) or high resistance (anything more than 1 ohm) then MAF is bad. Pins with the Maf connecters facing up (clipping end pointing up) pins are ordered 5-4-3-2-1. Hope it helps.
