This is what a 2004 Yamaha R1 looks like after crashing at 157 mph:
Tempe Man Crashes Motorcycle Into Pole While Doing 157 MPH. Dude Lived.

A Tempe man is in pretty rough shape after wrecking his motorcycle into a traffic signal pole early Sunday morning.
There's good chance 19-year-old Noe Marcos Colazo is gonna live, Pinal County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tim Gaffney tells New Times, but he could possibly lose a leg -- which is incredible considering he was doing about 157 mph at the time of the wreck and was thrown more than 100 feet from the bike.
The high-speed hooliganism went down about 2 a.m. Sunday, when a PCSO deputy traveling northbound on Gantzel Road in San Tan Valley saw a motorcycle speeding down the southbound side of the road.
The deputy clocked Colazo at 157 mph in a 45 mph zone -- right before he smacked into a pole at the intersection of 36630 North Gantzel Road.
From the PCSO:
Colazo was transported by air ambulance to Scottsdale Osborn Hospital in extremely critical condition.
Assuming he's released from the hospital, Colazo is in some trouble. Gaffney says upon his release from the hospital, Colazo will be charged with aggravated DUI charges (his Arizona Driver's License is currently revoked), reckless driving, and criminal speed.
LESSON OF THE DAY: Don't do anything stupid.

From the PCSO:
He drove 348 feet through the dirt shoulder before he collided with the concrete base of the traffic signal pole. The motorcycle then flew through the air for another 18 feet before colliding with a wooden SRP pole. The motorcycle was nearly disintegrated on impact and Calazo flew an additional 104 feet through the air before striking the ground.
Assuming he's released from the hospital, Colazo is in some trouble. Gaffney says upon his release from the hospital, Colazo will be charged with aggravated DUI charges (his Arizona Driver's License is currently revoked), reckless driving, and criminal speed.

That's nutz! I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually raise the age to get ur M1 to 21... the younger kids are reckless on these bikes.... I hope they don't because there are some responsible kids that don't do this silly stuff... I ride a bike to but I actually drive my car faster than I ride my bike... probably bec I can see the police better lol... I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone but himself.

Wow, he lived?!
Living thru that is the ultimate punishment though. He will be permanently in pain and disabled for the rest of his life.
I seriously think fast motorcycles and fast cars should be illegal and off limit to anyone under 25. When a person is young, love speed, full of energy, feeling invincible.........they all do 180 mph in 25 mph zone. They don't care, think it is ok, nothing will ever happen to them or anyone. I know I did I did some REALLY reckless driving that I will never do again now that I am older and wiser. At the time, I don't think about the consequences and just do it, I got lucky and nothing bad happened to me. Partly due to I was too poor to own anything too fast, the fastest car I owned only had 430 hp, is A LOT slower then a fast bike.
Almost ALL older car guys say the same thing, if I have a vehicle this fast when I was young, I would be dead.

Amazing that he avoided all the stationary objects when he was ejected from the bike.
When I was a teenager, a guy tried the same stunt on a residential rode, lost control and hit a light standard. He was going much slower, estimated around 150 km/h (just under 100 mph). Unfortunately for him, his head caught the light standard and they were picking pieces of helmet and gray matter off the lawn of one of my Mom's friends.
