4 lane undivided road...speed limit 30mph....expedition came across the center line and hit a F250 pulling a trailer loaded with a tractor then kept coming towards me even after losing his LF wheel....luckily I was only going 35mph and swerved onto the shoulder as much as I could or it would have been much worse.

dude kept traveling about an 1/8 of a mile after the hit so he must have been hauling azz

That's why you carry insurance, to fix the cosmetic stuff. Fixing you would be a lot more difficult, painful, and expensive. Glad you're OK!

sucks to see that happen to anyone, especially since body shops will have many days off for the holidays...so there will be an even longer delay to have your car back. but thank goodness you're all right and the damage doesn't appear to be too severe.

no, because my insurance isn't paying a claim.


....now if the guy would have run from the accident on foot (truck was totaled) and claim somebody had stole his vehicle, it would have gone as uninsured and rates do go up (I think).


UPDATE -- driver of the other vehicle is in jail (guessing for DUI)!!!!!

didn't quite catch it, but how was the truck totaled? did it hit something after it hit your car? anyway, very sorry to hear about your damage, that sucks.

did police come and get everything down? if so, was the other driver charged? drunk?

on a 4 lane undivided road, he was traveling westbound and hit an eastbound F250 towing a trailer with a tractor, that trashed the expedition right there -- I was traveling eastbound behind trailer in the right hand lane and he KEPT COMING TOWARDS ME....I drove off on the shoulder as far as I could at 30mph but he still tagged me.

his insurance company told me they took him to jail and he's in jail now.

Great, another Houston accident.. there is at least 10 every day.. If there is no accident in a day in Houston its literally a miracle.. Glad you survived and it wasn't too bad..

Good thing he's in jail. Sucks insurance didn't cover you for that but at least it's not that bad.
