is the auto transport industry run by amateurs?
Hey fellas, just wanted to share my experience with everyone for those who are thinking about having their car shipped and hope this doesn't happen to you.
its been a whole month since i had my car picked up to be delivered across the country. Originally, it was suppose to take a week but due to "mechanical/technical circumstances" its been delayed until further notice. Transport Services(Broker) and Skyline Auto Transport(Carrier) are claiming that the truck carrying my car along with many others, failed to pass inspection at the Desert Hills Weigh Station in Riverside, CA aka Banning. Later on, i learned that the truck underwent repairs to its hydraulic system and its now waiting on paperwork to be processed and completed by US DOT. Making matters worst, the people working at Banning say they don't see an open carrier truck on their lot and Enok, my driver, insists that it is there. Unfortunately, I have no means of transportation, to verify all this.
My experience has been far from pleasant. Dozens of phone calls to these awful companies to find out when and where the car will be delivered. They just simply do not know. Where is the extra mile here? The only sure thing I know is that when I'm told "We'll call you back, <insert timeframe>." Its just another lie to add to the pile.
Enok, from Skyline Auto Transport, feels so terrible and thankful that I've been so understanding throughout this process, that he offered to send me his car until he can get my car to me. Additionally, he asked if I can call Transport Services(broker that contracted this guy) and tell them that they delivered my car. Fat chance buddy and I still haven't seen your car.
I'll be lucky to see my car next week.
Merry Christmas everyone.

I used DAS to ship my car when I bought it. Paid about 1K, it went from New Jersey to El Paso, their service was flawless. Sorry to hear that you're having a hard time, hope all is well when your car arrives!!

so i called the broker today and threatening to call the police. Immediately I received a phone call from the driver and tells me "we have a problem". my car has suffered damage to the roof. And starts explaining the damage is repairable and offers to buy the car off me. I tell him i'm not going to make any decisions over the phone until he brings the car to me.
My head is against the wall the right now. This is some shady ****. Should I go see a lawyer or report the car missing/stolen?

Reminds me of the time I was expecting a bunch of watermelons. Found out that I was never going to get that delivery because the truck did not pass inspection.
They found drugs being transported via that truck!
