Ford has really set the bar for the American auto industry.

They've done so well, go Ford! The interior looks pretty good too.

Nicely done. I hope the EPA numbers are class leading.

not a fan of them charging more for the smaller engine, but the truck looks nice!

Its no longer a truck so the name Explorer is not just a name. That said I think it looks great. Ford is blending a nice design style, it looks like a Ford but not identical to anything. To me I see raised Taurus and it works well while mixing older Explorer cues.

Specs look great as well. This should be a hit!

Looks good but seeing how most of the Fords on the road are typical Ford crap of just a few years ago, I'll hold judgement.

Could it be a hit, doubt it will ever see 400k+ sales like the original Explorer in the SUV craze days, I think it will be more impressive to see the Taurus or Fusion hit 400-600k like GM did back in the day.

What bar, did you forget all the crap they made, Ford is making a nice return to compete with the auto companies who continue to set the bar higher and higher

i don't know how many years you mean by a few but they've been making quality vehicles for at least the past 6 years, starting with the 04 F-150 then the 500, then fusion, explorer, new mustang, etc. they've really been on a roll.

Could it be a hit, doubt it will ever see 400k+ sales like the original Explorer in the SUV craze days,
of course not, they've split the product into 4 or more different more specialized products.

Yeah Ford is ahead a whole heap of brands, including tons of Japanese ones like Nissan and Mitsubishi. They make some damn good products now.

it's a suv version of the taurus, but the taurus isn't selling well so what makes them think a suv version will ?

No its not a SUV version of the Taurus. The Taurus is also selling very well. Ford is doing very well.

Currently trends show people are flocking back to SUVs and trucks and not small cars. The name "Explorer" is still well respected and the specs look pretty impressive.

Because it's a SUV, not a sedan.
