Default What car did you learn how to drive Stick in?

Hey Guys, Just curious what you guys learned to drive Stick in, I know how to drive stick, but im not the best, im getting ready to sell my IS350 soon and want to spend no more than 2000$ on a Cheap Honda, Acura, Mazda, Nissan or something along the lines of that just to get the hang of stick more, i plan on getting a 335i 6MT and i want to be the best Stick driver i could be

Ive looked into Integras, Civics, 240SX

But clublexus is always helpful

Keep in mind i only need this car for no more than 2-3 Months.

I learned on a RSX-S. I dont think you need to buy a car just to practice driving stick in, especially since you already know how to drive one. If you really want to practice, find a rental place with manual cars, shouldn't take you more than an afternoon to get all the bugs out of your technique.

^True you have a point, but the other reason im buying a Temporary car is because im trying to sell my IS350 asap before i put more miles on it and stuff, and before its 2011!
I plan on selling my Is350 hopefully this month, buy a cheap car thats stick and wait till end of January or so and buy a 07 335i.

Price should go down once its actually 2011, happens to most cars.

do you mean just learn, or long term practice?

i learned in a mazda mx3, and 8 yrs later we got the is300 and that's what i really "learn" it

my wife learned it all in the is300

bmw 6mt is easy to drive, it's been 5 yrs since is300 before we got our m3 6mt, i had zero problem. took my wife 10 mins to get used to it as well

just get the car (and find someone to drive it home for you if you are afraid). find a good quiet residential area with a lot of stop sign, find someone to give you a quick lesson, and then practice.

key is be patience and go slow, then it doesn't matter if it's a crap car or if it's your new 335i 6mt

tons of people in socal able to give you good lesson in stick

1990 Toyota 4-Runner. One of the few that came with a stick and (gutless) four cylinder.

i learned on my mom's '79 bmw 320i. dad and i were in the car, while mom would be taking leisurely walks around the block with my sis. super scared the first time, as i kept stalling, but after awhile and just gaining more confidence and experience as time went by. we still have that car to this day, still runs good (most days). lol

learned it on a sr20 turbo'd S14 that I bought. Too much of a deal to pass up so I bought it and learned to drive on it.

Free 86 VW Fox, but really learned when I bought an 88 BMW 325i. Night and day between the two.
