Ford Model 8N. I was 6 years old in the barnyard. Never had a DD auto until the IS350 in 2006.
The first road going car I manually shifted was a 1968 Mercedes 250, much like this one:
I've owned a LOT of manuals since then, but won't buy another one for a lot of reasons.

I learned in the first car I ever bought a 1976 Plymouth Volare. I think I paid 800$. Probably the worst car to learn how to drive stick. If I messed up I had to get under the car and unbind the linkage. Boy did I love that car.
Looked just like this one. Only my hood scoop was painted black.

M35 Deuce when I was 13, diesel 4 speed, then when I was 15, I expanded on a 2006 Porsche 911, then my uncles 1988 Jeep Wrangler, and my first truck a 1982 Chevy S10 1.9 4 speed, and my buddy Joe's monster 85 K20 3 speed+low. Add in countless Mustangs and other cars.

No, I don't play soccer!
Whatever car Taggart Driving School brought to the house
I had to learn how to drive stick shift or forget about getting a license. I went through the mandatory six hours behind the wheel, all manual. Fortunately I learned pretty fast and my driving test was taken in an automatic. In downtown Newark For the next few years, I drove mostly VWs - Rabbits, Dashers, Pickups - all stick shift, all diesel with manual chokes. I miss the VW Pickup, my little green machine
