Default Battle of the Supercars (all episodes)

Just wanted to give the crew at CL a heads up. I just saw a commercial for a show called " battle of the supercars". Its airing on Thursday on the SPEED Channel. Sounds like it should be pretty cool. The guide on the TV shows its broken into 2 30 minute segments. It has a Gumpert in the advertisement with Tanner Foust as well. So we are obviously going to see them sliding some very expensive, powerful, and rare cars around. Also with Paul Tracy involved we should see some serious driving as well

ENJOY!!!!! It should be pretty cool

Nice, thanks for the heads up. I wonder if this is a replacement for Supercars Exposed? I love that show and was wondering when they would re start it, but looks like this is it.

Cool to have a show with exotics. Top Gear will always be the best but its cool to have some options. Although not as intense as this may be I have to say I have been enjoying Motor week more recently. They did the episode on the rolls royce ghost and Infiniti M56

I love this show!!!

Tanner calling the GT-R a "Corolla"....lol.

Paul calling the TT a "glorified VW"....lol.

Amazing how fast the GT R is.
Shocked that it beat the TT by a full second to 100.

Also surprised that the TT is only a 5 speed manual and not a 6.

Tracy: "Road course is like synchronized swimming to me"....lmao.

GT R for the win.....but I still badly want a TT.

DAMN!!!!!! The GTR just dusted the 911 TT by 5 car lengths in the standing mile. I cant believe that the 0-100-0 was way better in the GTR. The car defies physics.

nothing fishy. The GTR was designed to specifically out perform the 911TT: FACT . I just didnt think it would beat it by so much

Is it just me or do you guys feel that these 1000 hp RWD cars are just an accident waiting to happen. IMHO if the car has more than 450 hp it should be AWD to really be able to use the power. With a 1000 hp its not that useable if you cant get that power to the ground. Tanner was getting wheel spin at 100 mph. I remember seeing a show with the hennesey viper. The car spun the wheels at 130 mph and spun out as the Tech Art Porsche sailed past the finish line. I would rather to be able to push my car and not have to start drag races in 2nd gear to avoid just lighting up the tires

I agree with that last post. There comes a point where the hp and especially torque is soooo unusable these days. I really should add that early torque is the worse case. That is why Vipers are such a handful. I should also state that having a turbo vs. a supercharger is going to be bigger handful to control if you are not used to the car. I have a 400whp NSX and it isn't nearly as unstable as the turbo versions I have seen.

BTW, I am sad I missed this show. It sounded good.

I basically agree with your statement, I just think the rear wheel drive threshold is 600 hp, i.e. many Supras, M3's, Corvettes, Muscle cars etc.. if set up right can handle this amount of power, with not having crazy wheel spin. After that power point, on street tires, AWD is a must to have traction! Even if I had enough money for a 1000 hp car, I would not have one, because as you said it is a accident just waiting to happen.
