SPY SHOTS OF SUPERSIZED DUCATI MONSTERS
DAMN! CHECK OUT THOSE REAR TIRES!!!
Ducati’s new Mega-Monster musclebike and rival to the Yamaha V-Max has been spotted testing on the roads around the Bologna factory.
The pictures were grabbed as two bikes were testing on the road and show a big muscle bike with twin rows of LED rear lights and twin side-mounted exhausts. The pictures first appeared on Italian website www.motoblog.it.
Little is known about the bike in terms of mechanical details but its clear this will be a high-powered V-twin using a Ducati trellis frame with a single sided swingarm to take on the Yamaha V-Max.

You get better grip, but if you go too wide, the handling can suffer. It's kind of like running 305 rear tires with 215 fronts. You'll get great traction in a straight line and coming out of corners, but it messes with the handling characteristics upon entering corners. I guess it's harder to lean the bike with a huge rear tire.
I don't have personal experience with this though. I'm only going by what I've read in magazines.
On a side note- I love the way the Ducati Monsters look, but at 6'3" I look like Shaq on a tricycle when I sit on one.

This bike, unlike other Ducati, will most likely be bigger and heavier, and be less about handling and agility, and more about raw power and straight line acceleration. That rear tire is too wide compared to the front tire.
I don't know why it's being made. The Street Fighter is a pure naked race bike. This Mega Monster seems more like a super-cruiser than a crotch-rocket; like a glorified Yamaha V-Max or BMW R1200R.
I'm 5'10" and 200+ lbs. I'm bordering that thin line of looking like a monkey humping a red turtle.

This bike is the Ferrari of street bikes. If you are very good you can tame the beast . If not, it can hurt you.....bad. The problem with most drivers and riders is that they think they are better than they really are. Thats what results in accidents in/on these exotic machines
