34,000 GVWR 26' box truck with a 6-speed non-synchro manual.
Hey, I know it's not huge, but nonetheless I wasn't licensed to be driving it (Requires a B). That should count for something.

Meh, it wasnt really for competition purposes. I was simply curious. I know the Army/Marines have some BIG trucks. But I am also not nieve, I know they aren't the biggest on the road.

Metro Transit articulated bus - 60 feet total (35/25), about 24 tons unloaded. It was actually fun to drive!!! Now have a 31' motorhome and tow a Malibu Maxx; about 47 feet total; 12 tons loaded.

And I do respect those driving the big rigs, many are accumulating huge mileage numbers annually.

As for military trucks, its VERY rare to see one with more than 10,000 miles. For comparison, the average 5 year old 18 wheeler can have around 500,000. Also, anyone every priced a Wheel/tire for an HMMWV? Its a block-tread goodyear radial. $2,089. FOR ONE TIRE. Typical gov't overspending...
Who else has driven a large vehicle? This can go for anything that moves under mechanical power: Boats, planes, etc.
Lil4x...I know you were in the navy! Where are the boats you drove?
(Oh and Bob, From a current soldier to an ol' salt...you know what they say about sailors right?
500 sailors go out, 250 couples come back! )

Yes, 18-wheelers do put out some impressive mileage numbers...BUT...most do not do so without MASSIVE maintenance costs. Tires alone can cost $5,000-$10,000+ for a set (just for the tractor) which is why most owner/operators by 1 or 2 at a time....

For reality's sake check the tires below. They are known as super singles. Basically 1 tire replaces the typical dual sets that are most commonly seen. Not everyone uses them as they are uber- expensive. Typically 1 of these will cost in the neighborhood of $700-$900 dollars. Blow one of these bad boys,,game over. No limping to the next truck stop, no keep rolling til it comes off,, just pull over and wait for a road call; AKA more expense. LOL!!
This is my current, assigned ride,,,435K miles and still running strong
Super single tire,,
Tire specs,,,,445/50/R22.5

Outside of a few larger trucks doing things like charity work, picking up furniture, etc...........the largest vehicle I've driven was probably the Ford Excursion. It was also probably the worst-handling new vehicle I've ever sampled, right off a dealer's lot. The 6500-7000 lb. curb-weight was simply too much for the poorly-engineered chassis.
I am also a licensed pilot/classroom Ground Instructor, and have flown a number of general-aviation aircraft up to the size/weight of a Piper Navajo. Some of these aircraft I've flown solo; others with other pilots/instructors.

Well I will take the lame trophy for this thread. The largest thing I've ever driven was a Tundra Crew Max but that truck barely fit in a lane, parking space, drive thru, etc. I have no problem driving a Land Cruiser or LX but the Tundra Crew Max is a totally different type of machine...
