Crazy options.

Like a $30k Scion xB, a $60k Dodge Ram, and the $65k IS350-C F-Sport -- cars can get expensive when you add pricey options.

You should check out how expensive motorcycles get with some options out there. For example, the Desmosedici RR has a $12k aftermarket exhaust option.

Unfortunately, in some cases, that's true. When I reviewed the Mini Clubman last year, I noticed that loaded John Works S versions, especially with dealer/factory-approved accessories, can sometimes run over 40K. So, I believe Stage3 (and the posted ad, of course) when a 47K price is listed. With 18 miles on it, of course, that is a brand-new car.

I don't think, though, that the dealership will actually get that much on the sale, especially in today's economy. One can walk right down to the other end of the showroom and get a new 335i for that money, even without any bargaining at all. And few sport sedans in the world, IMO, beat the 335i for that price....it is a superb car, and a delight to drive.

I agree with MMARSHALL, you'd be surprised at the actual cost of a mini once you start adding options. I was looking at an Cooper S about 2 years ago and once I added in JCW parts (exterior only) it was well into the high $37k mark. So figure engine and this is right in line. Shame it is so hight, but the right buyer will get it.

People with all amounts of money love Minis.

The price is NOT shocking at all. If I was looking for another MINI, I wouldn't have any problem offering the guy $45k. Because back in 2006, I paid $40k for my JCW.

And this is not your average Mini Cooper...this is the M edition of Mini Coopers.
