Post 350hp Ford Focus RS500 (EVO review)

lol a Focus has more power than any Acura

The limited edition Ford Focus RS500, which has close to 350bhp, will be launched next week.

The car's existence has been confirmed by a Ford microsite, which shows the RS500 being driven round its Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium.

The car has been created in response to public demand, and the growing market of aftermarket tuners offering tuned cars with up to 400bhp.

The RS500 is expected to remain as practical as the current RS, keeping its rear seats, but it will be differentiated with a more extreme look, including a large rear wing that can be seen at the start of the video.

The Mk2 Ford Focus RS is limited to 8000 models, with 4000 destined for the UK. Logic suggests the RS500 will be limited to 500 examples.

We're not going to get the RS-model Focus in the U.S. I've already done a previous CL thread complaining about that, Mike. You might (?) be able to combine them.....your call.

Where are you going to wait for its intro? ...........I assume not in CA. It doesn't look like it is coming to America, at least for now. Even so, there's an outside chance, though, it may be at the New York Auto Show next month.

Agreed and I'm not too happy of the prospect of FWD with more than 300 horses. HOWEVER, they did mention they have this device that they use called "Revoknuckle" which is designed (along with the LSD) to reduce torque steer...

May mmarshall can explain and answer this one

A number of recent cars have had 300 HP and FWD. I did speak a little on this subject in the other CL thread that we have going at the moment on the new LaCrosse anti-torque-steer system.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/car...uspension.html

I have confidence in Ford engineers, though. They have been doing a pretty good job on their vehicles lately. Still, as you note, 350 HP in a car the size of the Focus is a lot, and, under those conditions, I would expect at least some torque steer, no matter what they do.
