Do ANY luxury cars get good MPG???

"Luxury" cars, in general, don't get particularly good mileage (and are more expensive to run) for a number of reasons. First, many of their owners want power. Second, of course, is weight from a lot of added equipment. Third, many accessories draw power from the engine and alternator, requiring more gas burned. Fourth, a number of them offer AWD, which consumes a significant amount of power and gas. Fifth, gas-mileage is usually not a top priority with engineers in desiging luxury cars. Sixth, many upmarket vehicles burn premium gas (though some can safely do regular in a pinch), which just adds to fuel costs.
However, the upcoming CAFE laws will change at least some of that. The Lexus HS offers a nice hybrid system, though not as fuel-efficient as the Prius, and new-technology diesels are available in some Audi, BMW, and Mercedes models in the American market.

It kills when I see these numbers. BMW diesel and performance outweigh Lexus and hybrid, at least in their sedans and coupes. To me, hybrid tech really is not needed in a luxury vehicle...I guess the 400h is the exception but the benefits are marginal over the 350, and Lexus could of offered the DI 3.5 in the RX.

All modern luxury cars get good MPG. Don't worry about the EPA ratings, its mostly about your driving style, weigh of the car, and of course its drag coefficient.
With light footed driving style, you should get 30+ mpg highway in any modern 6 cylinder midsize luxury sedan, and 20+ in the city.

I am sick of the rediculous MPG im getting in all of the higher end cars I've owned.
My;
-SC430 gets 14mpg combined,
-3 series convertible gets 16 combined
-cadillac SRX and CTS got 18 and 20
-Jaguar S-type got 19
-my Lincoln Mark LT gets 10mpg
-my Dodge Viper gets 7mpg.....
My NSX with full engine build got 25! All I want is a nice car that averages 28mpg!

IMO, anything over 20 mpg is gravy in a luxury vehicle.

To the OP what is "Good" to you. For instance today I averaged 25.2 MPG in a 340hp 4100lbs GS 450h. Now people might say "that is not good" but that is fantastic. Road and Track even stated the GS 450h gets better MPG than 75% of the cars they test
Other good suggestions were the HS and 335d. Lexus and BMW have the best MPG when it comes to luxury vehicles.
The Vette is no luxury car but it gets great highway MPG. Porsche's 911 now with Direct Injection also can get 30 MPG on the highway.
It also depends on how you drive.
Clearly the MARKET feels differently, people want hybrid luxury cars. BMW, Benz, Audi either are debuting it or will have it soon.
When you can find us another luxury vehicle that weighs 4400 lbs, gets 30 MPG like the RX 450h can, let us know.
It is amazing to me you blast Lexus for following and not leading and they are BY FAR the LEADER in hybrid technology and you say "its not needed".
I guess we need more V-12s that get 4 MPG.

All the EPA MPG numbers are BS. Look at my SC430, 17/23, I get 14mpg COMBINED! And I never floor it.
I want a car that I can drive around and get high 20's. The freeways here are stop and go, so it's basicly all city.
