Acura vs. Lexus....which is sportier
We're not comparing looks or which is tier 1,2,3 etc. I just want to discuss which is a better from a driver's perspective.
I know test results can vary so this is just an overview of some test results from a few car magazines. I did not do the LS since Acura has no flagship or an IS-F competitor and I left some other cars out such as the TSX and LX.
Acura:
Pro: Has very good all wheel drive system, Thick steering wheel, good manual transmissions.
Con: No V-8s, No rear wheel drive, only 5 or 6 speeds.
Lexus:
Pro: V-8s, 6+ speed transmissions, rear wheel drive
Con: All wheel drive system not as good as Acura, steering wheel isn't as thick or sporty as the competition. Suspension can be too soft on some models.
Some recent test:

Since the NSX went away, only Lexus even offers a moderately sport focused car - the IS-F. The TL-S isn't even in the same ballpark, and the S2000 wears a Honda badge. Sad to say, but from a "sport" perspective, neither company is pushing the envelope. I know we're all hoping the F models change that, but Acura has absolutely nothing in terms of real sport performance. Go to any track day and look for Acuras to reinforce this...

The sportier BRAND - Acura
The brand with the sportiest options - Lexus
Reason being is that Lexus is purposely a more plush, luxurious brand and not a BMW wannabe. Acura, with it's much smaller lineup, is more focused on sporty luxury. And even though Acura doesn't offer anything like the IS-F or LFA for ultimate sport, these cars are more the exception at Lexus.
Just like BMW is more sporty than Mercedes but at the highest level, MB can kick butt in the sporty category with such cars as the SLR.
So really, it's based on a car by car basis. But brand to brand, Acura is clearly the more sport focused brand.
