THanks Bagwell. Comparing The Nitrogen to Air chart there is really only a slight difference over time.. I think i'll stick to spending 75 cents once a month instead of $70.00. Hopefully a portable air compressor will be under the tree this year LOL... I'm pretty **** about the accuracy of air in my tires..

Costco or other tire installers add a water solution with a brush or sponge thingie to the inside edge of the tires when mounting to get that bar to slide around the tire on to the rim.
I would think that water solution puts moisture into the nitrogen fill defeating any possible dry air benefit of nitrogen. The nitrogen in the tire isn't 95% dry anymore..

I gave up finding one that was free and that actually worked, and that didn't have 3 people waiting to use it!!
I check my tires' PSI a lot! its so easy with this compressor every week or 2.
[also, the air rachet to use with it is kickazz]
this is overkill I know but I hate those little lighter plug-in things...they can take forever!

I bought this 6 Gal from Sears on sale last year.
Lift handle and carry from vehicle to vehicle.
Perfect.

Speaking of costco...

I use a (about $100) compressor that plugs into the wall in my garage, it's plenty fast and I never have to use the crap equipment at gas stations. Plus I can check the tires when cold, before the car is driven in the morning.

(Tires, BTW, are usually considered cold if they have been sitting for at least 3 hours, not directly in the sun, and driven less than a mile).
How did you feel about the nitrogen tire-fillups? IMO, it's probably a waste of time and money.

And yes, I had to hire an electrician when I moved.
Back towards the original topic, we buy all our tires at Costco, so get nitrogen fills for free. We do seem to require top-offs less frequently, except for my one cracked rim that drops from 40 to 25psi over a week (will get repaired shortly after I switch to the winter set). I'm happy to have it, but would never pay $70 for it.

nitrogen maybe makes a difference in formula one. commuting to work? not so much.
