After all the discussion, I went down to the local MB dealer to check. I explained than my Lexus lease was up in early December and I was looking for a replacement. He showed me a base E350 (plastic interior and no NAV) which he would sell at $12K off list or about $35K. I told him that this was not in the ballpark for what I wanted and he produced a similar car with leather and NAV that he would sell for the same price if I would agree today.

There are deals out there if you want to deal with the MB problems and have the last generation car. My ES350 UL is a much nicer car than even the equipped E350 and has more back seat room and trunk space. The sales guy even hinted at a "deal" on the 2010 but by that time I was tired.

I went by today when they were closed and there were at least 12 2009 E350's on their lot. They may have more in the back where I could not see.

The KBB trade-in value is meaningless on an obsolete/EOL '09 E-class.

I drove the last gen E350 for a week as a loaner, it was a nice German version of a better Buick. So I'm not surprised it took major incentives to move it, and I watched sales spiral down over the last several months.

Yes the whole thread is laughable and backward looking. Fortunately Mercedes is moving ahead and addressing areas needing improvement.

Yes the internet is full of garbage posted by armchair experts, but with the EOL E-class it's no surprise as to the pricing.

You guys make me laugh

I bought a new 2009 e350 in July for $35K (incl $1k in options) before TTL.
With TTL it was ~39-40K.

Discounts
10K from MB to dealer
4k from MB thru USAA to buyer
6K in 'market adjustment' - whatever that is

MB does this 10k off thing when the e-class model changes. They did it in 2002-03

You won't get this now b/c that 10k incentive was for July only

werewolf, prepare to be told by people that you didn't get that deal. You will be asked to send a blood sample and copies of your W2s as proof.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Its simply one of the best deals ever for such a smoking hot car!!
