Wow looks like a really heavy crash, hopefully everyone got out of that wreck ok. The passenger compartment on the LX looks unscathed, and the GX passenger compartment looks to have held for the most part.

I just noticed there is another GX on the right side of the GX that got into an accident.

From what I read on the russian blog all the passengers were fine in both vehicles.

This is because most interstate roads in Russia, and many other eastern European countries are too narrow with no divider in the middle. Often you have only one lane going each way, and people pass slow moving trucks in the oncoming lane, and thats why these freak accidents always happen.

Are you sure it's a head-on? The Land Cruiser sure looks like it but the GX looks like an offset collision.

There's a little kink in the GX's a-pillar but that isn't bad considering the weight of the LX.

It was linked from here:

Apparently some young drivers were doing unsafe maneuvers in the GX. The Google translation lists the cars as totaled, but "drivers and passengers of vehicles were unhurt and escaped with minor bruises."

Both help up very well considering their mass and how fast they were going in opposite direction. I'm impressed.

Well... you're taking "head on" to be literally head on as in the two vehicles directly straight head to head with each other. In this case, I'm sure the LX was going straight into the front passenger's side of the GX (so yes, offset), but they were definitely heading towards each other.

Wonder what speed they were going? 45, 50, 60... 80 mph. No matter what speed, multiply by 2 to get relative speed. WOW... if everyone survived, they surely had their seatbelts on.

I actually went back to the mother land not to long ago, and drivers out there are maniacs, and that's an understatement, especially taxi drivers - zooming past people at 40 mph. There this sort of pick a spot in the road and drive kind of thing they have going, every time i got into a moving piece of metal i became tense

I am very impressed that the passengers all walked away. I have to admit that when I had my EDFC installed in my car the tech went on and on about how many air bags he came across when running the wires from the console to the 4 shock towers
