That's nothing compared to the cars it can outperform.

Not bad...

Exactly. Sounds like some of those prices are jacked up quite a bit. Hell I can buy 10 quarters of Mobil 1 at walmart for $42, add filter & tax and I am still under $55.

Not bad, sadly except for the trans and diffs my 09 Maxima practically falls into a similar price range, recommended oil changes for my car are 120 bucks, thats with the Nissan Ester oil, I can't figure out what my fathers FX cost but it's just like Lexus where they throw a premium price tag on the maintenance work, but the dealership throws in free damage with every oil change

I know the brakes on the GTR are pretty expensive, I don't really remember but it might be 500 a wheel for new rotors and pads, I don't think Nissan dealers are allowed to do just pad replacement.

This post freaked me out:

http://www.gt-rforum.com/showthread.php?t=1400

Was told by the Dealer that there is a posibility that the GT-R could need a brake job within the first 15,000 miles. They advised me that the cost of this service would be $9,000. Also, that tires last from between 4,000 to 10,000 miles and the replacement cost would be $4,000.

These prices are not going to break the bank if you can afford the car. Its like when someone at the lexus dealership complains about paying 1200 dollars for major service on thier LS or GS. Give me a break. Its like when I read on the forum that a dude with an LS was doing his own brakes to cut costs.

Not only that, most people who buy cars like the GTR do not rack up the miles so there rarely is expensive services.

I am thinking about getting one in early 2011. I am not phased by the maintenance and I plan to do 60 miles a day in the car. I will be keeping the GS so I will probably break it up 3 days GTR and 4 days Lexus, unless the situation calls for more of either

Seems on par with most "regular" cars. I think the bigger difference is when the car is out of warranty and needs major mechanical repairs that's where you'll see it's true "costs to own."
