The current CLS 63 AMG shares its engine with the previous-generation E 63 AMG and both make 378kW (514hp). If the same arrangement sticks then expect to see a 6.3-litre V8 installed and making 386kW (525hp).
I thought the new CLS AMG was going to be the first AMG model to have the 550 HP twin turbo V8.

looks to me like the New CLS550 front looks more like the Current CL550 (which make sense)...

I have always like the big benzs more than the larger BMWs. They have more flare and power usually

As long as the interior looks more modern the current E-class, I'm fine with it. I really hope they don't mess it up because the current CLS is one of the most beautiful cars on the road today.

Who knows really

But from my understanding, unlike BMW M division, the AMG division of MB has never utilized the use of a turbo and has just settled with using natural aspiration.

However, with the stricter Euro 6 emission regulations and other emission standards elsewhere, AMG may consider turbo-charging (or supercharging like the MB Kompressor engines).

Anyways, we'll just have to wait-and-see. As for the design, I do hope it's at least the same or better than the current design. Hopefully, MB would be able to do well on this one

i think the story was with all the 55 series supercharged engines, suddenly they dropped everything and went to the current 63 series, and they said after evaluations, they are going to drop superchargers and use turbos instead. but they never gave a time line, and imho the 6.2L NA engines are like a "bridge" during the transition, just not sure for how long?

Were the 55 supercharged old SOHC designs?
