Car-
Should win: Fusion
Will win: Camaro (just cuz GM it got to market and supposed to save GM... wait... on it's 4th recall/bulletin.. whoops )
Truck-
Should win: Q5... easily the best (go drive one, I'd take it over any other listed)
Will win: Cadillac lovefest continues...

The standards for the COTY and TOTY awards vary, but, traditionally, they are given for the new vehicles that, each year, either represent the most significant new entry from a marketing standpoint, or do the most to advance the engineering and state of the auto industry itself.
Car of the Year:
From a marketing standpoint, it HAS to be the new F-Body Camaro, hands-down. Supply of this car can't even remotely begin to catch up with demand. We're barely out of September 2009, and the entire 2010 model-year allocation is already gone.
From an engineering/quality point of view, I'll take the Ford Fusion Hybrid. It not only is a superbly well-built American-nameplate car that goes a long way towards re-establishing Detroit's former good reputation back in the 1960's, but beats many of the foreign-nameplate hybrids at their own game.
Truck of the Year:
From a marketing standpoint, although it is not yet officially on sale, and I know Mike (1SICKLEX) may not agree with me, I'd have to say the Honda Crosstour. Despite its butt-ugly rear end, like it or not, this is the first Honda vehicle in the American market to be able to compete with the likes of the Outback, Venza, XC70, and Audi All-Road. As such, it opens the Honda nameplate to an area where Honda has not been able to compete in before......the CR-V and Pilot are SUV's, not Outback-style wagons like the Crosstour.
From an engineering/qualty standpoint, I'd have to pick something that is not on the list (assuming that what I've read about it true, as I have not seen or reviewed it).....the Ford F-150 Raptor. The frame, underpinnings, and tires (supposedly) on this truck are SO strong that it can reportedly slam over off-road obstacles at ridiculous speeds, exceeding even the abilities of the military Hummer H1.
Just an aside comment, however.......I'm not convinced that the Crosstour and Outback are really trucks. They are essentially raised, sedan-based, AWD wagons/hatchbacks.
