The 5 series still have too much Chris Bangle in its design and I hate those Japanese cartoon eyes for tail lights. The interior is not up to par compare to Lexus and Audi. If all you really care about is performance and willing to give up everything else, then the 5 series perfect for you.

No one has mentioned a Cadillac CTS, a good world class American car.

Audi's new S4? 335 with M sport parts? C 350 would be slower but looks great.
What else do you want in the vehicle? Size? Options? etc?
|
Size is important... Need space in the back for a babyseat in a few years... Options = touchscreen nav (but can do this aftermarket)... Really, I just want good looks and power... Maybe I will get the 550i... I hate BMW people, and I hate the interiors, but it may be a refreshing change... I'll have to add an aftermarket nav though, german electronics are HORRIBLE! (die blaupunkt die)

Maybe, I'm open to all options...
I like the SHO, but something about going from a Lexus to a Taurus... I dunno... I hate the bad rep american cars have with the masses

How much for a 550i (in the NOVA) area?
I am 100% for sure not keeping my IS350... I will turn it in the first week of December and I can wait several months before buying a new car as I have a few others cars to drive...
I'm considering:
1) IS-F
2) CTS-V
3) 550i
Anything else to throw in the mix? Remember, I can wait till spring/summer of next year, no problem...

I test drove an IS-F one last time for the heck of it when I was looking for a ride for 09. I was not pleased at all with the drive.. It felt like an Is350 with Tien coilovers imo & it is small. This is my opinion..Test drive the 3 cars listed & you will find out fast which is the better drive FOR YOU..

Of course drive all three but if i had to pick I would go with the new CTS-V, there is something about a detuned corvette ZR1 motor pushing 550 hp easily modable to 600+ that i dont think any of your other options could touch ....

I might have missed a post, but are you buying or leasing your next car?

If you're learning on the ISF, when you tell your sales agent that you want the ISF, after test driving, tell him you're headed to test the 5 and CTS. Tell him that they're going for great prices right now and he'll do whatever it takes to keep you and get you in the ISF. You can pull the same trick on all the different dealers but I feel Caddy will try hardest to keep you in the lot
