I realized 2 things about my new sig pic. My screen name is lex,
and the car covers up the "E", so it looks like LX, which is the car's name.

I wonder how much it would cost to have the old grill put in its place :/

Those grills are very Venza-esque. I guess it seems like the most logical move for the hybrids. Is it just me or does Lexus designs make you think WTF? Their designs of late, make me feel like it's missing something. Is the simple design (less is more) concept better than the busy designs of the germans?(ex. creases all over the place)

The IS250 F version in japan, has this mesh grill, IS-F seats, and IS-F Trunk.

Fail.

The LS grille is actually the least offensive of the hybrids, IMO, but the new bumper looks worse than before. I guess I'll be the first to think that this GS grille looks like garbage. All of the slits are different sizes, the spacing isn't consistent, and by the look of that picture they're angled differently as well? It looks completely slapped together and very low-budget. Who designed this, a ten year old? Shame.

IS F sport looks really nice.

FWIW, those IS F sport wheels are the ISP Mode rims that have been around since 2006. IMO, they're a great looking wheel and very uncommon. I saw one on campus yesterday and did a double take because it looked so nice. I don't typically like multispoke wheels but these look much better in person than they do in the pictures.

It does a bit, at least in that picture. On the street, no resemblance.

yeah
the grill really cheapened it

they've always said that the hybrid GS and LS are not here as an economical and environmental solution
but they are a powerful version of their gasoline counterparts without the guilt of being a V8 or V10

so they really shouldnt be using these hybrid grills

but.......
this move indicates that they want to reserve the F grills for the GS and LS for something more wicked
so we might be able to see more performance oriented GS and LS in the future as most of us suspected

The GS hybrid and IS are looking good, nice to see continual updates and additions to the IS line. LS hybrid, the grill I don't mind that much. It's not pretty, but it's not ugly, it's just ok. The GS hybrid grill I quite like, very interesting design.

LS front bumper change is certainly dissapointing, but good thing we won't be dealing with this for long since the LS gets a redesign soon. The regular LS facelift looks good however, especially the "F-Sport" package for the LS. I am also very interested in the detailed changes the GS hybrid received as well as the LS in general. From brochure pics the 2010 LS interior looks to be quite nice and improved.

As for criticism of the F cars, be patient everyone. Only 1 F car now, but soon the LF-A arrives as the top dog in the F lineup, and as a halo car for Lexus (and Toyota) in general. In a few years we are also supposed to be getting the GS-F. If the car arrives with the rumored V10 from the LF-A, it will be full of win.
