Lexus Tops Motorist Choice Brand Survey
It's been a knock-down, drag-out 2009 for carmakers, but despite the tough economic conditions, the cars themselves just keep getting better. This year it's Lexus coming out on the top of this ever-improving melee in the 2009 Motorist Choice Awards.
Luxury vehicles dominated the top of the list, taking the top 34 spots for cars. The only small car to make the top 100 was a luxury car, too - the BMW 1-series, which finished 35th overall.
But it's Lexus that really took home the show, winning the top spot in class for the LS (premium luxury car), ES (mid-size luxury car) and RX (luxury crossover SUV).

Keep building that solid rep. Its amazing. I don't think any company in my life has received as many accolades as Lexus . Maybe Mercedes but Lexus is no joke either

Ummm...who made up these categories?
"Aspirational Luxury" - A5 - apparently they've never seen or been in one....pure beauty, but even the S5 is grossly underpowered for the price point.
"Image Compact" - VW - Wtf does this category even mean???
"Large Pickup" - Challenger - When did this become a pickup? I've pulled on it like it was a truck every time, however.
"Compact Pickup" - Avalanche - Huh? I previoulsy had an '04 Avalanche and there was nothing compact about it? And I didn't even have the 2500?
Somebody needs to re-evaluate their criteria...lol.
But anyways, congrats to the great showing by Lexus.

My apologies, when copy-pasting the two columns, the first-place tied finish in the large car category threw the list off. It is now corrected.
Now corrected, Honda Fit won in the Economy Car category.
Now corrected, the winner was the Prius, and quite a few reviewers have mentioned the 'image' factor with that car.
Now corrected, the Challenger goes in the sporty car category, the Avalanche in the SUV.
I should've known there was an error when the Honda Odyssey was listed under the "Crossover SUV" category.

I am not going to trust a survey that calls a fit a sporty car
and a frontier a minivan....

Well thanks for the correction....but:
"Aspirational Luxury" - A5 - apparently they've never seen or been in one....pure beauty, but even the S5 is grossly underpowered for the price point. (This one didn't change.)
And how does the Challenger win anything? Nice exterior looks, brutal interior and still Dodge. I can think of a long list of "Sporty" cars that would finish far ahead of the Challenger.

Yes there are way better full size cars than the DTS. V8 fwd?? are you serious? and last time I checked cadilac is a luxury brand and the dts is theyre flag ship so it shouldnt be considered for the catergory. maybe thats just being logical .
