for the record, the previous picture of the GLK interior is misleading. Wood is not standard, and without it, it looks like this

On the surface, I agree.....that looks more or less like an econobox interior, but it's hard to tell, from the shot, if that metallic trim is REAL brushed-aluminum or just the cheap painted-silver plastic. If it is real aluminum, and not plastic, then that would be a different case.

Whats the fancy with real aluminum anyways? A 4x10 sheet of .032 anodized aluminum costs $60 these days.

Wow, that's almost as cheap as recycled plastic for fake wood.

And another $200 to $300 of labor to form it into a panel.

You would be surprise to know that the RX is the same width as the Q5 and only 4.5 longer.

He was wrong. How the segment leader is "stuck" is beyond me.

GLK interior could be confused with this.

Many don't like it there....

The RX is the best selling crossover by an unimaginable margin. I am not denying that. But it's not fair to place it with the small ute's, as it's larger then them. But at the same time, it's smaller than most other mid-size crossovers. That's why I say it's in between segments. It's on the small end of mid size SUVs, but larger than the compact ones.

Isn't that the old 190?

I don't think that interior you posted looks bad at all........I've seen lots worse.

I agree, considering it's age it still looks fairly contemporary today....

You did see my post on the dimensions of the Q5 and the 2010 RX350 right? They are very similar in size.

4.5" is significant enough to separate the LS460L from the LS460.

Especially if it's in the case of added wheelbase length as is the LS version (not the RX), best way to increase usable rear seat space/legroom.
