BMW motorcycle roars it way to the U.S. with delivery date and price
Much anticipated by performance riders BMW Motorrad USA initiates presale program

A German manufacturer's first ride into the world of performance motorcycles was finalized this week with a firm US release date and recommended sales price.

BMW Motorrad USA will have its long-awaited S 1000 RR sport bike in U.S. dealerships in December and carry a price tag of $13,800.

To further excite potential buyers the motorcycle manufacturer has put a Pre-Sale Program in place that will run through December 31, 2009.

The German motorcycle manufacturers S1000 RR enters the world of sports machines combining engine output of 193 hp with overall weight of just 450 lb including fuel (403.5 lb dry weight, 455.3 lb overall with Race ABS), giving an impressive power-to-weight ratio and performance.

Equally impressive, the new motorcycle also comes equipped with Race ABS and DTC Dynamic Traction Control, a new benchmark in terms of riding dynamics, safety and innovation.

Very nice and competitive price....what BMW needs to do now is enter it into AMA superbike (probably superstock class) to show that it is that good for its target audience.
