I guess with the M37 coming out this means that Lexus will need to bump its hp o the 3.5 l V6 to at least 330 hp. They have already fallen behind in the small sports sedan segment when infiniti released the G37 sedan. The GS could use a touch more power

In all honesty though, Lexus better look like recreating the success and soul of the 2GS for the new generation or they shouldn't bother in the first place. The new GS needs to be dramatic, sporty, dynamic, emotional, and a top performer. If it's anything less I will lose all hope.
I am sure the new M will be a great car...the 2nd gen was successful for the brand and a wonderful car as well. I am excited to see what they come up with.

i actually quite like the current M
upping one on new E series and new 5 series is a tall order
hopefully they can do it well and get lexus to one up as well
and yeah, Lexus is in desperate need of another GS success story

"it's a really good looking car"
i think i'll believe them this time, considering they made the Essence.
it might even force Lexus to do a big midcycle overhaul on the GS like they did to the last gen LS.

I'm hoping for great things out of the 4GS and 3IS. Please Lexus, do not let who ever designed the HS or RX anywhere near the upcoming 4GS. If the next generation ES truly moves off the Camry platform, then what will happen to the GS? If they share a platform, then it becomes even harder to justify the GS' existence. Maybe the next GS might become Lexus' CLS competitor.
As for the M, I have no doubt it'll look outstanding.

That has been my hope as well.
To differentiate the ES350 from the GS350, the next GS must be sportier, faster, maybe roomier, and maybe a little less expensive compared to the competition. And hopefully, the GS460 gets the power boost needed to make it 380hp, not 330hp...
