Default Just saw the new Genesis Coupe at the dealer

So I cancelled the S5 order this morning as the dealer was clowning around (didn't have the exact car I wanted and was scrambling, etc.)... anyway, kinda bummed, so swung by the Hyundai dealership when going to get the kids... they had the first Genesis Coupe onsite, 3.8, gray... didn't have time to drive, just peak in..

It is STUNNING!!! Pictures do NOT do it justice, will try for a test drive as sales guy got my info and I bought my Sonata there, he's checking with the Sales Manager on numbers. Wheels, sweet, and very sharp stance!!!!

So maybe this morning was an omen??? It's loaded, although no NAV (summer) and turbos are due soon, so... but VERY nice, lines are gorgeous... will update tomorrow if I get a chance to go drive...

It's on my review list, guys. I already have several requests for it.

But, Russ.........I thought the S5 was a done deal; if not an S5, an A5. Both are now nixed?

The price diff should be huge. I've seen the Genesis coupe, nice enough.

I never like the front end of the Genesis coupe, but I have yet to see the coupe in person ...

After you test drive the Genesis coupe, how about go to a Nissan dealer to test drive the new 370Z also if you haven't done so. I think these two are the hottest coupe with the highest value.

Saw a green genesis coupe cruising around here in Irvine California for a couple of weeks.

Genesis Coupe has good exterior and performance, but I'm waiting for our esteemed reviewers on CL to examine its interior quality.

Wait a sec... you went from an IS-F to an S5, and now you are eyeing the Genesis? You're gonna be checking out the Yaris pretty soon! ha ha

i'd pay a little more for a 370z.

with the same options, the 370 is probably not much more expensive. and looks badass fixed up.

I am loving it as well. especially after seeing it in worked form. I think it looks just as good as a G37 when worked

The S5 WAS a done deal... or so I thought. There were only TWO S5s out there the way I wanted them optioned (6-sp, B&O, NAV, Tech, ADS in Ibis White/blk). Dealer had secured one on a boat. Gave him credit card to hold, signed faxed paperwork. Granted, I also had an escape clause of March 4th written in (another story)AND was agreed to by the Sales Manger & GM.

Found out yesterday SM was trading one of his A5s (MUCH easier car to get) for it and the two dealers had been haggling so "apparently" he never did secure the S5, and now it's apparently been purchased by someone else. I believe it was checked off as "Dealer trade" on the contract. So anyway, he tells me yesterday that the "new" car he can now get doesn't have Audi Select Drive, which was like one I was getting in ATL for $2K cheaper. And they (ATL) were MUCH easier to deal with... so now I'm taking a couple days to cool off and re-group.

As far as the Genesis, they called last night, offered it to me for $29,300 (sticker was $30,100 I think). BUT it is not the 3.8 TRACK, so it doesn't have a 6-sd, upgraded stereo or upgraded suspension. I'm trying to work time in for a test drive, but I'd get the Track version. They hope to have the 2.0T by month's end.

Stay tuned, my "soap opera" contnues...

When I pulled my dn payment back, I ALMOST bought an M3 in Metallic Gray that was INCREDIBLE, but passion of the moment and my desire to **** the Audi Manager off to walk next door and buy the BMW was replaced by common sense... but I LOVE that car, with the wheels it was one of the prettiest cars I've ever seen... also $74K sticker, a TAD higher than the S5 or IS-F
