Default haha classic blog responses to chryslers "thanks america" ad

I love the responses. I guess the people that would normally filter blog comments are out on vacation.

"Hey Crysler! You're not welcome. You took my hard earned tax dollars without congressional approval. This is not the time for a "thank you." This would be a good time for a refund...and an apology. "

there's many more like that one.

just classic. Is that a picture of the UAW staffers laughing all the way to the bank.

I was "upgraded" into a Jeep SUV the last time I rented, wow, what a piece of junk. Trans shifted terrible, clunked, interior was just awful, it was identical to a 1990 Jeep Cherokee, no ergonomics, terrible brakes, stereo was just garbage, I couldn't believe it was a 2008 model. I'm pissed we had to bail out such an awful car company.

My uncle used to have this 1996 Dodge Caravan we got in Texas and nationalized in Mexico as a utility van. It wound up earning the nickname money pit after all the trouble we had with it, including a terrible transmission that wound up not wanting to go in reverse (luckily we had a genius of a friend who modified transmissions).

To me, it's kind of like the big 3 don't get it (delusional?) that people still don't have a high enough opinion of their quality/design to want to go buy one of their vehicles. It's kind of like they're a broken record they refuse to take off the turntable.

They just keep producing crappy cars. Ditch Dodge and transfer the charger (hmm 300 sales?) and challenger over to Chrysler.

The execs at Chrysler are just trying to keep their bloated paychecks for another few months.

More like they're trying to keep them forever.

This is the second time Chrysler was bailed out with a government loan (U.S. Taxpayers money). In my opinion Chrysler shouldn't have received any money this second time around...

When will Chrysler or the U.S. Government learn???

I really hate the fact that people are under the impression that bankrupt means that they will cease to exist. Its frustrating

Who said that?

But it does allow certain debt to be eliminated and/or reduced, contracts to be broken, etc.

Money is not really the issue at Chrysler. You could give them the entire U.S. Treasury and it still would not solve their #1 problem.....poor-quality materials in the design/construction of their cars. Overall, outside of the 1984 Pontiac Fiero and 1987 Hyundai Excel, they rank as some of the lowest-quality vehicles I've looked at and reviewed.

This is nothing new with me personally either....I owned several new FWD Chrysler products in the 70's and early 80's. Most were in the shop for warranty work more than they were out, backed by zone reps that had no idea of what they were dealing with. One was so bad (a 1983 K-car-based Lebaron) that I didn't even keep it a year, and finally switched to Japanese cars, with a new 1984 Mazda.

Chrysler had some great engines and automatic transmissions in the 60s that were bulletproof, but let things go way downhill after that with the quality-cheapening in the 1970's and the switch to lightweight, FWD designs. They were junk from the beginning of that era, and, to an extent, still are today. The RWD models today, like the Charger, 300, and Challenger, have a reasonably good chassis/drivetrain (some of it Mercedes-based) but the hardware/interior materials are still junk.
