Yup, seen many of those there for years( I visit there every other year on average), & I don't think it's a recent phenonena ?
Those Alphards are particularly nice, nicer than the minivans they have available here.

SUVs don't really "work" in Asia or Europe. They're too darn big.
Folks over there don't have the same hang-ups Americans have
about the "image" of an SUV, either.
Besides, vans have more room inside, are more economical, ride better,
handle better, and have better resale value.
I'll gladly take a minivan over most SUV. I just dont see why there is so much hate for minivans. I guess people need to be 'cool' in this day and age.

the Alphard is pretty darn big IMO...not as big as a say, Pacifica though.
its crazy how people my age (mid 20s) want a minivan over a sports car.
