Default Best Shifting Car

My G35 Coupe shifts like a dog gone TRUCK! The shifter shakes too. I installed an engine dampener and it helped a lot but, I drove my friends 07 SI coupe and it was buttery smooth and soooooo much fun. So my question is whats the best manual out there?

I had a Del Sol before, it's also very good...

Definitely S2000, I owned one for several years, great shifter. I felt the clutch was a bit light feeling though.

Honda has always been good with their stick-shift vehicles...

I recall the newer VWs being pretty slick too, minus the reverse gear out in front just before 1st gear...

Well that sucks! I can't even fit in a s2000. So basically honda has the best manuals. How about the TSX?

the S2k shifter is so good, that after test driving a new 335i and M3, I think that if I do get back into a BM, it will have to be w/their DCT tranny (otherwise a SSK would be the very first mod)

I don't have much seat time in any of the newer MT cars but maybe the S2K has some good family roots cuz my all time favorite manual transmission car (please don't laugh!) was a 1985 Honda Prelude 2.0SI that I bought brand new, That transmission was sweet. Snick-Snick never missed a beat.

Hands down the S2000 has one of the best gearbox for a production car. 8 years after the first model, it's still one of the best.

I do like the Acura Integra Type R's gearbox too. In fact, I haven't come across a Honda/Acura manual that I hated.

Another vote for the S2000 here.

The tranny did not love cold weather though.

To get into reverse on a cold morning, you had to go into fourth and then go for reverse.

I loved shifting the car but living with that stiff clutch in Boston traffic was a bummer.

I would agree with the ITR tranny, I used to love it!! But seeing I cannot fit in an S2K, I can only agree with you on that one.

Worst feel shifter I've owned is the Nissan S14 240SX. It was so loose, and would move from side to side as I would drift.
