i went on the IIHS site to check out the legends, http://www.iihs.org/ratings/ratingsbyseries.aspx?id=346

acceptable is better than marginal

the scale is Good > Acceptable > Marginal > Poor

Doesn't surprise me that the Colorado and Canyon are at the bottom. They are two of the most poorly-made and flimsiest modern pickups I've seen. Even with a fully-enclosed truck/box frame, just look at the sheet metal and hardware on them and you'll see for yourself.
